WordPress Users: Please Read

For the umpteenth time, IFTTT has failed to pass a blog post from the main challenge blog on Blogger to this blog. As the trigger to post to Facebook and Twitter is a post to this blog, this has meant that those posts haven’t been made, either. While it would be nice for the social media posts to come from the main blog as it had in the past, apparently that function no longer exists.

Hopefully, what I’ve done to fix the Blogger-to-Wordpress passthru will fix it for Monday’s Z entry, but in case it doesn’t, please monitor the main challenge blog,

I hope we come up with a more-permanent solution for next year.

  1. Why not switch to WordPress completely and ditch Blogger? I know many people comment using Blogger but I have a plugin on mine which allows people to sign in with a variety of social media platforms as well as just with email.

  2. Sometimes, an applet on IFTTT just … fails. It’s happened to me in the past, too. You can always find another applet that does the same thing, from a different developer. There are usually several that do the same thing. I just got 5 by typing “if blogger then wordpress” in the search bar. Just make sure that name next to “by” is different than the one you’re currently using and you’ll likely be good to go. πŸ™‚

  3. WordPress is experiencing what I call “growing pains”…i.e. they’ve messed up big time, according to one long time blogger here (Serendipity). Perhaps the problem is with WP, not A-Z? Whatever the problem, I must say that I’ve had no problem (I guess, never looked) posting my daily contributions as long as it was from the main challenge page. By next year, given the dire problem here (WordPress), many may have migrated to Blogger. Who knows. Thanks for doing your best! πŸ˜€
